Programs and Scholarships

Visual artist Christopher Cran, 2003 Banff Centre Fleck Fellow

A major focus of Banff Centre Revitalization will be the enrichment of the Centre's endowment funds to enhance Centre programs and assist emerging and established creative leaders and artists to come to Banff. Without financial support, many artists, Aboriginal leaders, non-profit sector workers, and others would never be able to attend Banff Centre programs.

I hear of The Banff Centre's particular genius every time I speak to an artist, scientist, or any individual who has had the great fortune to have been a resident.

Scholarships ensure access for emerging and established creative leaders, no matter what their means or how far they must travel to reach the Centre. The Centre awards more than $3.8 million in scholarships each year.

Revitalization will enable a broader reach of scholarship support across artistic and leadership disciplines, and an increase in individual award support. This is vitally important. Banff artists are established, on the cusp of career breakthroughs, and ready to become leaders in the arts and culture.

Leadership Development programs emphasize small group work and peer-to-peer learning.
