The Tokai String Quartet was formed in August of 2002. They were recipients of the Felix Galimir Chamber Music Award at the University of Toronto in 2003. They were quartet-in-residence at the Silverstrov Group Concert Series. The Tokai has attended master classes given by the Emerson, Ying, and St. Lawrence quartets, and performed the Mendelssohn Octet with the St. Lawrence Quartet in March 2004.
