Formerly the Penguin Quartet, formed in 1994, the ensemble won third prize and the audience prize at the 2006 London International String Quartet Competition, and became a laureate of the Prague Spring International Music Competition. Currently assistant quartet in residence at the Music Academy in Basel, Switzerland, the quartet was a 2004 finalist in the Concert Artists Guild International Competition. They recently recorded a four-disc set of Dvořák’s early works for string quartet on the label Praga Digitals.
