Heime Müller was born in Hamburg in 1970. He has been first and second violinist in the Artemis Quartet since 1991. The quartet has been influenced by studies with Walter Levin, the Alban Berg Quartet, and the Emerson Quartet. The Artemis Quartet has played in all the major concert halls in Europe and North America, including the Philharmonie in Berlin, Konzerthaus Vienna, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and Carnegie Hall. While playing the whole range of quartet repertoire, a major interest of the Artemis Quartet lies in comissioning and performing new pieces and working with the composers. The Artemis Quartet has an exclusive recording contract with Virgin Classics. Their recordings have won major awards including the Deutsche Schallplattenpreis and the Diapason d’Or. Heime Müller has been a professor of chamber music at the Universität der Künste in Berlin since 2005. |
