Collaboration Lab

The Collaboration Lab supports co-productions and hosts visiting researchers. It is a fully functional remote and co-located collaboration environment that streams video conference feeds over a high speed research network. It can link to other research labs and workspaces and facilitate telematics and a wide range of collaborative practices.

This Lab features a large three-projector display enabling remote and co-location collaboration. With up to four different camera/video inputs, the Lab can stream video conference feeds over the high speed WestGrid network. The Collaboration Lab is one of 14 partner institutions involved in the WestGrid network initiative.

The Lab is used by visiting co-production artists and researchers and may be available for new media organizations looking to enhance their collaborative experiences. The Lab offers multiple software services to bridge between different types of computer conferencing systems, providing a complete package for the digital media industry.
