Created in September 2005, the brass quintet Frolic was originally formed of students from the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal. They have studied with Yan Sallafranque and Manon Lafrance, trumpeter with the Canadian Brass Quintet. In 2006, they participated in a summer music camp at Domaine Forget in Quebec. Frolic has performed in many concerts and produced their own Christmas show in December 2006. They won a chamber music audition in September 2007 at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montreal, and had the opportunity to play at St-Armand, Quebec, in a cultural event.
The members of the Frolic Brass Quintet are recipients of a 2008 RBC YES scholarship.
Brass in the Community is generously supported by the Banff Community Foundation and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.
