Interviews

The Banff Centre’s Communications department can facilitate any interviews with visiting artists, program participants, artistic directors, designers and behind-the-scenes personnel, and administrators. We would be happy to arrange advance interviews with touring artists, and to facilitate either on-site or phone contact with artists once they arrive at the Centre.

The Banff Centre maintains a fixed ISDN line in a soundproof studio with double microphone setup for radio interviews. Let us know if you would like to book this for remote or on-site interviews.

Photography

The Communications department keeps an updated database of fully captioned and credited high-resolution photography for download on the Banff Centre website. This includes preview and promotional photography, and performance photography which is generally shot during dress rehearsal and made available immediately to journalists.

Please access the 2008 Banff Winter Arts Festival online photography bank here.

The Centre maintains a full-scale photography services department on-site, and can shoot within tight deadlines to meet specific media needs. Please advise us of unique photography requests that can enhance your story.

Communications will also facilitate access to any artist or performance space for photojournalists who wish to come to the Centre to shoot their own photos and photo essays.

Sound clips
and B-Roll

The Banff Centre maintains state-of-the-art audio engineering and television production and editing facilities on-site. We can provide video clips of any length, or digital sound clips to enhance your stories, sent in any format — CD, Beta tape, online access, etc. B-Roll can include production rehearsal clips, scenic shots, representational footage from past Banff Summer Arts Festivals, and performance footage.

The Centre is also equipped to accommodate satellite trucks and remotes.

Remote
broadcasting

The Banff Centre has professional staff, space, and technology setup to accommodate any format of remote broadcast. In the past, the Centre has hosted full broadcasts of radio and television programming including CBC Calgary’s The Homestretch and Wild Rose Country, CBC National’s Sounds Like Canada and After Hours, CBC Television’s Go, and CKUA’s Time for Jazz.

Media visits
and event tickets

The Banff Centre is pleased to host any accredited media representative for a site visit and attendance to any event or exhibition. The Centre maintains full-service hotel-style rooms on-site, with a fine dining room, casual dining outlets, and extensively equipped recreation centre. Our Guest Services Manager is also available to host tours of the Centre during your visit.

The Centre’s media rate is $60 a night, year round, and we also work closely with Banff Lake Louise Tourism to offset additional costs of travel, accommodation, and sightseeing while in the Banff area.

We would be pleased to provide tickets and invitations to any concerts, productions, exhibitions, and special events that you would like to attend.
