Banff Players - A Doll House
Friday, March 16, 2007 – 8 p.m.
Under the direction of Stéphane Prevost and using a translation and adaptation by acclaimed Canadian playwright John Murrell, the Banff Players take on one of the best known, most frequently performed modern plays by Henrik Ibsen. A classic expression of women’s rights, the plot builds to a climax in which the central character, Nora, rejects a smothering marriage and life in “a doll house.” Her subsequent action in the play creates tremendous controversy in a manner that still resonates with audiences today. Featuring local artists, the company will take a fresh approach to this stage classic. |
