Compadre is a term used to define a very special friendship beyond the norm. Describing Compadres, Suze Casey, artistic director of the Calgary Folk Club, clearly understands these guys. “Juno award winning solo artists James Keelaghan and Oscar Lopez are friends, musical partners and most definitely Compadres! They capture the essence of Canada. Solid Celtic tradition stirred up with Latin fire and spirit, the honoring of traditional roots with the exploration of new ideas, passion and compassion finely balanced with integrity and innovation. Globally influenced yet remaining true to their roots, a cohesive whole while maintaining an individual identity.
