One of the finest string ensembles in Canada featuring one of our most acclaimed violinists, Angèle Dubeau and the nine woman ensemble La Pieta are renowned for their breathtaking virtuosity, their impeccable precision, energy, musical richness, and, above all, their contagious joy of playing. During the past decade, La Pietà has touched a wide audience through live concerts and radio and television broadcasts. Since 1997, the ensemble has sold more than 200,000 recordings and is the best-selling Canadian classical musical orchestra. To celebrate their 10th anniversary, they present a program displaying great virtuosity and featuring works by such great composers as Vivaldi, Saint-Saëns, de Falla, Bizet, and Enescu.
