Led by acclaimed conductor and violinist Pinchas Zukerman, the National Arts Centre Octet brings to Banff a special performance of Schubert’s Octet in F Major, Op. 66. Members of the Octet, all from Ottawa’s National Arts Centre Orchestra, include Pinchas Zukerman, violin; Jessica Linnebach, violin; Jethro Marks, viola; Amanda Forsyth, cello; Joel Quarrington, bass; Kimball Sykes, clarinet; Christopher Millard, bassoon; and Lawrence Vine, horn. Comprised of six full-length movements artfully arranged for strings and winds, Schubert’s Octet is considered a masterpiece of early romantic music. During their tour, musicians, guests, and tour staff are blogging from communities across western Canada. For more information visit their website. |
