Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, under the artistic direction of Sarisa Figueroa, will perform Tinge and Tone in The Eric Harvie Theatre on Wednesday, June 18. Mixing a wild array of dance styles, the production showcases everything from tap to lindy hop, swing to Brazilian dance, all accompanied by original music composed by Rubim de Toledo and played live by a classic jazz quintet.

The music alone provides a full evening of jazz, but DJD adds a diverse vocabulary of movement from six choreographers – each one highlighting the unique talents of eight company dancers. DJD director Vicki Adams Willis calls it “a true concert jazz performance.”

Decidedly Jazz Danceworks was founded in 1984 with the objective of creating concert jazz dance that sustains the spirit and traditions of jazz.
