Jeff Kovitz, QC, has been appointed chair of The Banff Centre Board of Governors. Mr. Kovitz has been a member of The Banff Centre Board for the past five years and most recently served as vice chair.
Mr. Kovitz is the president of TouchSend Corporation which specializes in real estate project management. He is a leading Canadian expert in the use of technology in politics. Mr. Kovitz has served on numerous boards and committees including Alberta Ballet, Alberta Theatre Projects, Calgary Accessible Housing Society, the Grandstand Show Committee of the Calgary Stampede, the Provincial Court Nominating Committee for the Province of Alberta, and the Expert Advisory Panel on Publicly Funded Healthcare in the Province of Alberta.
Mr. Kovitz holds degrees in science and law from the University of Toronto, and was admitted to the Bar in Alberta in 1973. He was awarded a Queen’s Counsel from the Province of Alberta in 1990 and an Alberta Centennial Medal in 2005.
