Robin Loznak: Death in the Mountains
“I created this photo while attending a photography workshop in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in the spring of 2005. During the workshop, I shot a mini photo essay on roadkill in Grand Teton National Park. I made some interesting images of dead birds, discarded clothing and even a banana peel on the scenic roadways of the park.”
Robin Loznak has been a working photojournalist for 15 years. Currently, he is the photo editor and the chief photographer at the Great Falls Tribune in Great Falls, Montana; previously, he was the chief photographer at the Daily Inter Lake in Kalispell, Montana. He has been a staff photographer at newspapers in Oregon and Pennsylvania and has also worked as a freelance photographer in Portland, Oregon. A graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Loznak was the National Press Photographers Association Regional Photographer of the Year in 2001. His work has been published in newspapers, magazines and websites worldwide, including the New York Times and Sports Illustrated.
