2006 Banff Mountain Photography Competition
Special Mention
Chris Noble: Aspen Trunks
“Aspen trees have always captivated me, first by their inherent beauty and second by the fact that vast groves of tress can all be one immense, related organism. Of course one is attracted to the vivid colour of aspen leaves in autumn, but in this image I wanted to explore the feeling of symmetry and repeated form which one experiences in a mature grove.”
