Marty Blumen: Rim Lit Climber
“An ethereal fringe of light catches a sport climber on a cliff face at Céüse, France. I consider this my penultimate rock climbing photo. The unique light distils the essentials; a rope, chalk and a strong grip.”
Marty Blumen’s work has appeared in publications including National Geographic, Outside (China edition), and Crux (Australian/New Zealand edition). His work is characterised by great attention to detail, impeccable lighting, and richly saturated colours. Originally from Brisbane, Australia, Marty has travelled extensively and currently lives in Auckland, New Zealand. He is actively involved with the New Zealand Alpine Club in promoting outdoor photography through talks and workshops.
