Peter A. Dettling: Gentle Touch
“Last summer my father came for a visit. Because I knew that he would like to see a moose, I brought him to a place where one can often observe them. As we came to the chosen spot we were delighted to be ‘greeted’ by a bull moose. Not only was the backdrop gorgeous, but so was the light. Suddenly we noticed some movement to our left and out of the forest walked a cow moose. She didn’t seem to be bothered by our presence and slowly walked by us in the direction of the bull. She walked right up to him, lifted her head and only for a second their two noses touched. After that ‘gentle touch’, she walked away. To me this picture represents all I love about the Canadian Rockies. And the fact that I could share this perfect moment with my father, makes it all that more special.”
