William F. Donahue
Bill Donahue is a research consultant with Freshwater
Research Ltd. and a Research Associate in the University of
Alberta's Department of Biological Sciences. In 2000, he
completed his Ph.D. on effects of UV radiation,
acidification, and climate change on boreal lakes at the
Experimental Lakes Area. As a Natural Sciences and
Engineering Research Council of Canada Post-Doctoral Fellow
with Alberta Environment he studied metals accumulation in
Alberta lakes, focusing on dynamics, sources, and fates of
mercury. His current research interests include the study of
climate change and water supply, impacts of changing landuse
on boreal lakes, and impacts of hydrologic change on
carbon-cycling in the boreal forest. In addition, he is
currently investigating boreal forest sustainability issues
with the Adaptive Management Experiment Research Team,
comprised of government, academic, and industry scientists.
