Mountains as Water Towers: November 23-26,2003

Jay White

Jay White is a Professional Biologist specializing in water quality. He holds a B.Sc. degree from the University of Western Ontario, a M.Sc. degree from the University of Alberta and owns and manages Aquality Environmental Consulting Ltd. in Edmonton. He currently is working as Project Manager on the North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance’s State of the Watershed Project, and is a co-chair of the Bow River Basin Council’s State of the Basin Project. He is also the Project Manager for Lakeland County’s multi-jurisdictional State of the Watershed Project at Lac La Biche. Mr. White is currently serving as President of the Alberta Lake Management Society and is involved with various multi-stakeholder partnerships dealing with lake water quality throughout the Province. His most recent work on pharmaceuticals in surface waters led him to a protocol for the use of caffeine as an indicator to detect human sewage in lakes.
