Karen Atkinson is a multimedia installation artist, activist, and independent curator who teaches at the California Institute of the Arts. She is director of Side Street Projects, a non-profit artist-run organization in Santa Monica that she founded, and former director of programs and exhibitions at Installation in San Diego. She has exhibited her work throughout the United States and internationally.
