Renee Baert is a critic and independent curator who lives in Montreal. She has written extensively on contemporary art for numerous art magazines, catalogues and anthologies and has curated exhibitions at galleries across Canada. Her recent exhibitions include Objects in Advance of the Concept (Burnaby Art Gallery). Margins of Memory (Art Gallery of Windsor) and Witness (Presentation House). She is editor of the anthology Territories of Difference, published by the Walter Phillips Gallery. She is completing her Ph.D. in communications at McGill University and teaches in the MFA studio program at Concordia University.
