Richard Baillargeon is an artist and writer born in Lévis, Quebec. He completed a master of arts degre in anthropology at l’Université Laval in 1978. In 1987, he was the first Canadian photographer to be awarded the Duke and Duchess of York Award in Photography by the Canada Council. His work has been exhibited in numerous group and solo shows in Quebec, Canada and abroad. He is a founding member of VU, an artist-run centre in Quebec City where he has curated exhibitions.
