Poet Janis Barlow grew up in Windsor, Ontario. She became a registered nurse and also earned a BA in English (University of Western Ontario) and an MFA in English and creative writing (Mills College, California). Her poems have appeared in publications including Poetry Canada Review, Midwest Poetry Review, Mediphors, and Walrus. Barlow attended the Writing Studio (1988 Rachel Wyatt) and now lives in Michigan.
