Bruce Dowbiggin is a two-time winner of the Gemini Award for sports broadcasting with CBC-TV, the best-selling author of Money Players (a finalist for the 2004 National Business Book Award), and the featured sports columnist for the Calgary Herald. He has contributed to As it Happens, The National, The Journal, CBC Midday, CTV’s Canada A.M., and other programs in Canada and the United States. He began his print career as the sports editor of TV Guide Magazine and went on to author a number of books including: The Defense Never Rests (HarperCollins, 1993), Of Ice and Men, and The Stick (MacFarlane, Walter and Ross). He has also been a book reviewer for the Toronto Star and the Globe and Mail and has been published in media ranging from Macleans to Toronto Life to Elm Street. Dowbiggin has written two plays and his poetry and prose have also been included in several literary collections in Canada. Born and raised in Montreal, Dowbiggin now lives in Calgary with his wife and three children.
