Paulette Dubé
Contributor Banff Centre Press
Paulette Dubé was born in Westlock, Alberta, because her parents made it to the hospital on time. Two years later, home in her village of Legal, she watched her third sister come into the world via the kitchen table, and she has been hooked on magic, creation, and miracles ever since. Paulette has published several books — both poetry and prose — that have garnered a number of awards, including the Milton Acorn Memorial People’s Poetry Award (1994) and the CBC Alberta Anthology (1998). Talon made the shortlist for the 1999 Canadian Literary Awards, the Alberta Writers’ Guild Best Novel Award (2003), and the Starburst Award (2003). She lives in Jasper with her family, where she continues to write and teach.
