Warren Dunford

Contributor Banff Centre Press

Born in Toronto in 1963, Warren Dunford earned a degree in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson in 1984. He began writing professionally at nineteen and has been a full-time freelance copywriter since 1985. His three novels follow the life of Mitchell Draper, a struggling screenwriter whose adventures mimic various movie genres. Soon To Be A Major Motion Picture is a send-up of a Mafia crime thriller; Making A Killing is a gothic murder mystery; and The Scene Stealer is a kidnapping drama. The meta-fictional trilogy has been described as smart, witty, and addictive. Warren’s shorter work is featured in Quickies 2, Queer Fear 2, Upon A Midnight Clear, and AWOL: Tales For Travel-Inspired Minds. Warren has read at Toronto’s Harbourfront Reading Series, the Vancouver International Writers Festival, the Elora Writers Festival, and the Eden Mills Writers Festival. He has spoken to numerous writers’ groups and book clubs and has appeared on such television programs as Imprint, Book TV, and Mystery Ink.
