David Rakoff was a teenager when he left Canada to live in New York. He is the author of the book Fraud (Doubleday, 2001). A regular contributor to The New York Times Magazine, GQ, Outside Magazine, and public radio’s This American Life, his writing has also appeared in The New York Observer, Wired, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Salon, and Slate, among others. He still lives in New York.
