Giving Options

There are several ways to donate to The Banff Centre.  Whichever option you choose, your gift will have a powerful impact on people and communities.

Gifts of cash

You will receive a tax-deductible receipt for your gift.  To donate on-line, by mail, or by fax, please visit I’m ready to donate.

Gifts of Securities

There are substantial tax savings for donors who choose to donate publicly traded securities (e.g. shares, bonds, mutual funds) as an alternative to cash.  View more information.

Gifts of Flow-through Shares

With publicly traded flow-through shares, you can maximize your charitable giving while realizing substantial tax savings.  View more information.

Endowment Funds

By investing in an endowment fund, you can create a legacy for a friend, family member or collegue while providing sustainable funding for scholarships or programs.  Only the earnings from the fund are spent on designated purposes – your original contribution is held in perpetuity.  Contributions to arts endowment funds are eligible for matching funding through the Canadian Arts and Heritage Sustainability Program.  To be eligible for the match, donations must be made by November 15, 2007.

Planned Giving

In addition to maximizing your tax benefits, planned giving is a powerful way to leave behind a legacy and a message of hope for future generations.  From remembering The Banff Centre in your will to making The Banff Centre the beneficiary of a Life Insurance policy, there are numerous options available to donors who are interested in planned giving. I am interested in learning more about planned giving.  Please contact me.

Employer Matching Gift Programs

Did you know that many companies support their employees by offering matching gift programs?  You could double the impact of your gift by asking your employer to make a donation of equal value.

Ask your employer if they offer a charitable gift matching program.

If your company does not provide a corporate matching gift program, and you are interested in learning more about how to start one, please contact us toll free at 1-888-495-4467 or by e-mail at support@banffcentre.ca.

Gifts in Kind

Over the years, The Banff Centre has received many valuable non-cash gifts from generous donors, including book collections, pianos, artwork, and real estate.  The Banff Centre will gladly accept gifts-in-kind that benefit our program participants or meet specific criteria for our annual Banff Midsummer Ball silent auction.  The gift must be appraised so that a donation receipt can be issued for the gift’s fair market value.

If you would like to donate a gift in kind, please contact us toll free at 1-888-495-4467 or by e-mail at support@banffcentre.ca.

To learn more about donating to the Banff Midsummer Ball silent auction, please contact Lynette Markham at 1-888-495-4467 Ext. 7 or e-mail lynette_markham@banffcentre.ca
