Clifford E. Lee Choreography Award

This prestigious award, presented under the auspices of The Banff Centre, was established in 1978 by the Clifford E. Lee Foundation, to encourage the development of Canadian choreographers. The award is bestowed on the basis of works previously created and performed, and to recognize the potential of a new work proposed by each applicant. Applications are accepted from choreographers emerging on the Canadian dance scene. A jury made up of the artistic directors whose companies are participating in the Banff Summer Dance Program will select the recipient of the award.

Past recipients include: Judith Marcuse, Stephanie Ballard, Martine Epoque, Christopher House, Mark Godden, Bengt Jörgen, Crystal Pite, Shaun Hounsell, Allen Kaeja, Wen Wei Wang, Sabrina Matthews, Peter Quanz, Simone Orlando, and Robert Glumbek.
