Opera
Opera As Theatre focuses on the artists’ acquisition and integration
of essential music and theatre skills, necessary for every young
professional singer, in order to prepare, rehearse, and perform
successfully in a full-scale mainstage opera. Under the guidance of
leading theatre and music pedagogues, artists will engage in an intense
musical and dramatic investigation of a master work. They will learn and
apply new ideas and approaches to acting and movement, while emphasizing
the importance of body alignment, breath, diction, and speech in
reliable and consistent opera performance practice.
