Papermaking Facilities & Equipment

Facilities

The exposed rock face of Tunnel Mountain is a unique architectural feature of this studio. Clotheslines hang above the rock face for drying cotton sheets and wool felts. Large tables provide ample space for large work surfaces.

Proposals for papermaking or paper/fiber-based projects are submitted through application to any of these Creative Residencies programs: Thematic, New Works, or Self-Directed. Artists who apply for these programs have 24-hour access to the papermaking studio and should have at least an introductory level of experience in the area(s) they plan to produce work. The Print & Paper Facilitator leads artists through a mandatory studio orientation that covers WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) and studio equipment training.

The papermaking studio keeps basic materials for papermaking in stock. Please reference the web link papermaking fees to view a listing of these materials and related costs.
Please refer to the suppliers link to make arrangements for ordering supplies.
