Sculpture Studio
The Sculpture Studio provides artists with an open environment for the exploration of three-dimensional projects. The studio offers artists a space with easy access to wood, metal, stone, and mold-making technologies. In this environment, we support projects that can be highly exploratory and experimental, or ones that are well-defined and product-based. The Visual Arts faculty and staff are thoroughly committed to developing and assisting imaginative and ambitious artists towards creative and professional fulfillment.
While the Sculpture studio’s emphasis is on material practices, artists
are encouraged to investigate performance, kinetic, electronic, and
other cross-disciplinary approaches. The Sculpture studio supports
artists in Creative Residencies programs, workshops, and the Walter
Phillips Gallery, as well as artists participating in Banff New Media
Institute projects.
**Please consult with the sculpture facilitator to determine the needs
for your project at least a couple of weeks before your arrival in Banff.
This will ensure that all materials are available upon your arrival in
Banff. Those consumable items that are stocked by the Sculpture Studio
are sold on a cost recovery basis.
