New program announced:
Communication for Senior Scientists

Program dates: April 29 – May 3, 2009.

In celebration of The Banff Centre’s 75th anniversary, the new Communication for Senior Scientists program will be launched in 2008 and run in 2009. It will enable senior and celebrated scientists to think creatively about science in the public sphere, and develop tools for new approaches to communication of science. Working with a team of specialists, these senior scientists will gain a sophisticated understanding of the communication challenges they currently face; they will also acquire tools for effective public outreach. The scientists will leave the program with a framework and plans for creative dissemination of scientific thought and development through multi-media techniques.

This expanded community of skilled science communicators – enabled by the Communication for Senior Scientist program – will convey science knowledge, across Canada and throughout the world, with the clarity, intensity, and artfulness that its impact on individuals and societies warrants.
